Success

Within minutes, your domain will start pointing to our servers and your site can go live.

What You Will Need

Before getting started, make sure you have:

  • An active FlexyNode web hosting service
  • Your server IP address from the client portal
  • A Cloudflare account
  • The domain added to Cloudflare

Info

You can find your hosting IP address in the FlexyNode client area under your web hosting service.

Step 1: Log in to Cloudflare

  1. Visit https://dash.cloudflare.com
  2. Log in to your Cloudflare account
  3. Select the domain you want to connect

You will now see the Cloudflare dashboard for your domain.

Step 2: Open DNS Settings

Click DNS in the top menu.

Here you can view and manage all DNS records for your domain.

Step 3: Add an A Record

Click Add record and configure it as follows:

  • Type: A
  • Name: @
  • IPv4 address: your FlexyNode server IP
  • TTL: Auto

Set the proxy option to:

  • 🟠 Proxied for Cloudflare protection
  • DNS only for testing purposes

Click Save when finished.

Step 4: Add the WWW Record

Create another record with these values:

  • Type: CNAME
  • Name: www
  • Target: yourdomain.com

Apply the same proxy setting as the main record.

Step 5: Wait for DNS Propagation

DNS changes often take effect within minutes, but in some cases may take up to 24 hours.

Info

During this time, your website may not be visible everywhere yet.

Verify Everything Is Working

You can confirm the setup using:

  • Visiting your domain in a browser
  • Comparing the resolved IP address with the one in your FlexyNode panel

SSL Settings in Cloudflare

For a secure connection, we recommend:

Navigate to SSL/TLS → Overview and select:

  • Full
  • Or Full (Strict) if a certificate is already installed on your hosting

Warning

Avoid using Flexible SSL, as it can cause connection issues.

Common Issues

Cloudflare Error 521 or 522

Check that:

  • The IP address is correct
  • The server is online
  • Firewall rules allow incoming connections

Old Website Still Appears

  • Allow time for DNS propagation
  • Clear the Cloudflare cache
  • Test in a private browser window

All Set 🎉

Once the records are saved and DNS has propagated, your domain is successfully connected to FlexyNode web hosting.

Success

Your website is now accessible through your custom domain.
